An original work written for and first performed by the Huddleston Intermediate School band in Princeton, TX. The piece depicts the fall and then the subsequent rise of the fabled phoenix. The piece begins with a haunting flute melody that gives way to the stirring of the ashes and then the final triumphant rise of the Phoenix Upon Wings of Fire.

Far and Away is an original work that was written for and first performed by the Huddleston Intermediate School band in Princeton, TX. The piece is a somber tribute to those who fight for our country and are Far and Away. Fragments of the Star Spangled Banner and other patriotic tunes can be heard throughout the piece.

Locust Storm is an original work that was written for and first performed by the Huddleston Intermediate School band in Princeton, TX. The piece depicts an encroaching storm of locusts as it descends to Earth. The beginning builds slowly and ominously to the impending locust storm. Trumpet players buzzing on mouthpieces play the part of the locusts. Locust Storm is an exciting piece that students love to play and audiences enjoy hearing.
